Ingredients For Great Bo Kho
To cook real Vietnamese Bo Kho you will need these ingredients:
- 2 lbs Ox tail, Beef Shank (bò bắp), or Beef Chuck (bắp vai bò)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 chared onion
- 2 tablespoons garlic
- 3 oz of ginger, minced
- 1 can (8 ounces) tomato paste
- Vietnamese spice mix that includes Siagon Cinnamon, and Star Anise
- 1 carrot sliced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 1/2 teaspoon red Cayenne Pepper
- 4 tablesppoons of Fish Sauce “nuoc mam”
- 1 Bunch of basil
- Bean Sprouts
- 1 cup egg noodles or French Bread
Cooking Bo Kho Instructions Recipe
Boil the beef or ox tail in A large stock pot with 8 cups of water.Boil the meat for the Stew for about 10 min and add the 1 chared onion, Vietnamese spice mix, 3 oz of ginger, minced, and the 1 can (8 ounces) tomato paste.
